The Giant geckos living in the Yaté region of Grande Terre tend to have brown to olive-green and sometimes golden yellow backgrounds.

Markings can be simple white lines, or white dots arranged along the sides. Black patterns can sometimes be seen along the length of some specimens in a net-like appearance.

Some of the largest of the species, with very elongated heads and long tails, attaining 400 grams or more.
